The Friday Evening Ceremony had many fun elements:
The River City Riders exhibition group from Oregon performed for the audience after running "the Long Beach Derby".
One of the master of ceremonies wore brightly colored pants and an umberella hat.
A southern bellle arrived to invite all square dancers to the 59th National Square Dance Convention® in Louisville Kentucky in 2010.
A gift basket was given by the 58th NSDC General Chairman to the 59th NSDC General Chairman (passing of the torch?)
